The 3 Part Process To Building Out The Perfect Cyber Monday Landing Page

As a female entrepreneur, you probably get a lot of conflicting information about how you “should” act. Is it OK to be assertive? Or will that make people not like you? Is it OK to be kind, or does that mean people will take advantage of you?

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — and people love to shop.

According to Finances OnlineIn 2020, the online sales on Cyber Monday reached $10.8 billion, making it the biggest eCommerce selling day of all time.”

So how do you stand out from the crowd and show people the amazing service or product you have to offer?

You need a Landing Page that’s going to WOW.

Why a landing page? Think of it like a bridge. It’s the perfect connection to get to the other side of the river. People are much more likely to use a bridge than choose to swim.

Or, in this case, people are much more likely to be drawn into a landing page than exploring a whole website right off the bat.

Layout

Put yourself in the shoes of a shopper real quick. What kind of page would appeal to YOU.

Break down the basics…

Type Of Page

You have some options here — but don’t worry! Options are good. Simply take a look at what page would work best for helping your company reach its goals.

Here are some to consider…

  • A Squeeze Page
    • For collecting emails
  • A Splash Page
    • For making announcements
  • Click-Through Landing Page
    • Encourages a call to action
  • Lead Capture
    • Similar to a squeeze page with “ask” and “reward” elements
  • Sales Landing Page
    • Going for the sale

Track how your page is doing so you can get an idea of what works best for future advertising.

Colors and Theme

Time to go back to the days when you were in elementary art class and got to unleash your creative side. The only difference being that you probably don’t want to mix red and green this time.

A few tips when it comes to the style of your page…

✓ Stick to a few colors and fonts that go well together

✓ Keep it consistent across the page

✓ Make sure you have balance, flow, and uniformity

✓ Make sure the important stuff is toward the top

Keep it easy to read as well as easy on the eyes.

Brand Representation

We’ll be real — you might not want to be making landing pages if your company doesn’t have an established brand.

But once you do have that — you’ll find it much easier to create a landing page that speaks to who your company is.

Make sure to throw in your logo or theme colors for easier recognition!

Ease of Use

Remember that people from all walks of life are going to be landing on your page. Here’s a few tips to make sure they have a good experience.

✓ Don’t make it overly complex

✓ Make sure your loading times are up to speed

✓ Simplify your signup forms

✓ Make it mobile friendly

There would be no reason for someone to stay on your page if they have a hard time navigating it.

Copy

Hello, it’s me…

It’s super important to know your general audience and have the right kind of voice. So let’s break it down.

Headline

Your headline is probably the most important part of your copy.

Let’s think of a burger chain. Would you like this headline…

“Try Our New Burger”

Or this one…

“Are You Ready To Experience A New Level Of Deliciousness?”

You have to draw them in — and get them to want to keep reading.

Message

There really should be no confusion when it comes to the message. Landing pages are meant to be clear on what you are trying to offer.

Think of WHO you are speaking to and WHY they would be interested.

No sales pitch needed! Remember that you are speaking to real people. Personal Connection is key.

Details

Did you have that professor in college that would go on and on in their lectures? Half of the class falling asleep and the other half daydreaming about that night's frat party.

Don’t be that person.

Give just enough information that it’s useful, but not so much that your audience loses interest. Find that perfect balance — like peanut butter to jelly ratios.

Bonus: Countdown

Here’s a helpful hint. Countdowns are a great way to make it known that your deal is for a limited time. It can be beneficial to take advantage of that extra sense of urgency.

Call To Action

Hey you — Yes, YOU!

The whole point of a landing page is to get something out of it.

➡ Subscribers

➡ Emails

➡ Sales

No matter what it is, you’ve got to get people to take the next step.

But, don’t be pushy. People don’t like pushy!

✓ Start With Pain Points

✓ Highlight The Benefits

✓ Discuss The Features

✓ Provide A Solution

✓ End With Getting Them To Take Action.

Ending with a call to action wraps everything up with a nice little bow on top!
