How to Use Surveys and Quizzes in Your Marketing

As a female entrepreneur, you probably get a lot of conflicting information about how you “should” act. Is it OK to be assertive? Or will that make people not like you? Is it OK to be kind, or does that mean people will take advantage of you?

In marketing, one of the easiest ways to improve your strategy is by obtaining feedback from the people investing in you. Both financial investors and paying customers will be able to provide you with an outside perspective of your services like no other.

It’s all about making the customer happy and meeting their needs!

Even fast food restaurants want the feedback of their customers, not just high-level executive companies. Next time you hit up McDonald’s, check on the bottom or back of your receipt–there’s probably some type of survey!

Sure this is helpful for companies like McDonald’s, but why would you need to push surveys out to your clients? For the same reason!

You want to hear what people are saying about your business and services. Surveys are an excellent way to ask direct questions and to get the answers you want. Plus, they give you the flexibility to ask the client or customer to leave open-ended responses.

No matter what format or platform your surveys exist on, they should be easy to publicly access and you should encourage all of your clients to complete one!

There are many ways to use surveys and quizzes to your advantage, but how do you know which one is right for you?

Email Surveys

Email surveys and questionnaires are simple to automate and often attract a lot of feedback. They’re easy to access and customers respond quickly with just a few clicks. You can use email surveys to reach your clients on a preferred basis and ask them questions about things they’d like to see from you.

Marketing wise, this is an amazing way to let your customers know that you are investing in them. By allowing suggestions for updates and expansions of your services, you are allowing your clientele to feel heard and understood. Even if you are unable to follow through with some of their suggestions, acknowledgement is key to establishing loyalty.

Email surveys can be easily reviewed and the data compiled can really help you implement new strategies into your business that will satisfy your clients and also attract more people to what you offer.

Social Media

In recent years, social media surveys have taken the reins in every aspect of business. Both small businesses and big businesses alike are able to use social media surveys to improve their strategies quickly and efficiently. Instagram and Facebook have sticker buttons that enable users to post a story to their account with a survey attached. These quick quizzes and polls enable feedback from followers and the insights and results are easily tracked. Social media quizzes can be fun, or the surveys can consist of more serious questions about your business. Either way, this informal, public survey option can be implemented into any business practice right now.

Customer Experience Surveys

Customer experience surveys are similar to email surveys in the way that they can be automated to your clients. After a client speaks to you, has an exchange with you, or purchases a product, an email will be sent to them following up and asking questions about their experience. Surveys like this can be so beneficial because they are instantaneous and occur shortly after client interactions. This is important because their thoughts will be fresh enough in their mind that they can provide meaningful feedback to you, but they’ve also had a short time to think about and see the results.

Asking questions about accessibility and results can give you a huge insight into the minds of the people you are trying to help. No matter what area of business you're in, your customers are looking to you for help. let them know you are constantly improving, growing and learning with their help, too!

Whether you are following up with a customer or trying to engage with new people, surveys can be hugely beneficial to your marketing strategies. Having easy-to-access surveys will let people know that you are doing everything in your power to meet their needs.
