Part of being an entrepreneur is getting creative when it comes to marketing your business. Typically, we market ourselves based on trends, but for the most part we keep our strategies steady throughout the year.
Consistency is key, but what most people don’t talk about is flexibility.
You’re not always going to reach your target market. Still, people will inevitably stumble upon your product or service. So, how can you use this as fuel for your business?
Take back-to-school season — a prime example of how any and all businesses position their offers to benefit more than just their average consumer.
Start by asking yourself: What do people struggle with during the weeks leading up to back-to-school?
Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, a student, or you just know someone school-aged, you know back-to-school means two things: organization and fresh starts.. New wardrobes and supplies are at the top of everyone’s shopping list. (How else will the kids put their best foot forward?!)

So how can you use that fresh outlook to your advantage as a business owner?
Hone in on how your expertise can help people establish a routine. Your products and services don’t have to be geared towards school itself — just the two ideas that people embrace during this time.
What is it that people need help with right now in their daily lives?
Busy parents are looking for shortcuts. (Think meals and routines.)

They also probably need help sticking to their own goals now that their focus has shifted back to helping their children succeed.
Teachers are trying to find inexpensive ways to incorporate fun activities into their curriculum while staying organized.
Students are looking for ways to impress their peers and find a routine that works for them..
No matter what kind of problem your business solves, you have something to offer at least one of these groups — so bring them into your target audience. Though you may not market to them regularly, this is an opportunity for you to branch out and reach people who didn't even realize they could use your help.
So what can you do to show them what you’ve got to offer?

Start off by finding a way to offer a potential “back to school” sale for your business — this literally just needs to be some sort of discount or freebie for your audience, nothing too complicated.
Center your offer around the key concepts we’ve touched on above.
Tell them about how your workout program can keep them on track to reach their personal fitness goals when things get hectic.
Let them know that your product can shave 20 minutes off of their morning routine, making it easier to get everyone up and out for the day.
Show your audience that your services are versatile — they fit any season of life, especially back-to-school.
Once you’ve mastered this, you can apply this marketing concept to ANY major event or holiday (score!!).
At She Reigns Creative, we’re always searching for unique ways to enhance our marketing strategies and we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to hop on the back-to-school bandwagon.
